Horses are constantly giving us information through movement, posture, behavior and change. The Academy helps you recognize what matters, understand what may be connected and decide what question needs to come next.
WHO IT’S FOR
For horse people who want to understand more than what is obvious.
You may be an owner trying to understand why your horse suddenly feels different, a rider sorting through a change in performance, or a professional looking at several pieces of information and wondering which ones actually matter.
The Academy brings owners, riders, trainers and equine professionals together around one shared skill: learning to observe the whole horse before deciding what the information means. You do not need to be a practitioner to belong here.
WHAT ARE WE NOT SEEING?
The horse rarely gives us one isolated clue.
A change in movement may be connected to posture. A behavior may only appear under saddle. The same area of tension may keep returning because it is part of a larger pattern. The work begins when we stop treating each observation as a separate answer and start asking how the pieces relate.

THE PRACTICE
Seeing more is not about finding more problems.
It is about understanding the relationships between the information already in front of us so we can ask better questions and make more thoughtful decisions.

This isn’t another course to finish. It is a place to practice.
The Art of Seeing develops through repetition. Each month we use real horses, real questions and real situations to practice observing, questioning and making sense of what we see.
THE CENTERPIECE
The Seeing Lab
Using photographs, video, movement, posture, behavior and case history, we work through what you notice, what may be connected, what assumptions are showing up, what information is missing and what you would want to see next. The goal is not to guess a diagnosis. It is to become better at thinking through what the horse is showing you.
MONTHLY
Teaching + Q&A
Each month we take one part of the bigger picture and go deeper—from movement and asymmetry to compensation, behavior, nervous system responses, rider influence, training-body overlap, history and workload. Bring your questions and apply the teaching to the horses in front of you.

Observation Practice
Take one simple practice back to your own horse, rides or client sessions. You might compare movement before and after work, track a repeated behavior or practice describing what you see without immediately explaining it. This is how observation becomes a skill.
THE SIGHT FRAMEWORK
A framework for seeing the whole picture.
Inside the Academy, SIGHT gives you a process to return to when a horse is complicated, the information feels contradictory or you are simply not sure what you are looking at yet.

Stay With What Is There
Observe before you interpret. Begin with what is actually present without rushing to label it, explain it, fix it, or react to it.

Investigate the Pattern
Look for repetition, relationships, and change over time. One moment is information; the pattern helps give it meaning.

Ground It in Context
History, environment, timing, workload, relationships, and circumstances shape what you are seeing and can change what it means.
H
Hold Conclusions Lightly
Let new information change the picture. Curiosity keeps you responsive when certainty would close the door.

Turn the Lens on Yourself
Notice the expectations, experiences, fears, and assumptions you bring with you. The observer is always part of the picture.
WHAT CHANGES
You won’t necessarily see fewer things. You’ll know how to make more sense of them.
The goal is not certainty. It is better observation, better questions and better decisions.

- Separate what you are observing from the story you are telling yourself about it.
- Recognize relationships between movement, posture, behavior, history, environment, training and the rider.
- Ask better questions before jumping to conclusions.
- Recognize when you need more information before making a decision.

THE COMMUNITY
Seeing gets richer when more than one perspective enters the picture.
Owners notice things practitioners miss. Trainers bring context a bodyworker may not have. Practitioners may recognize patterns a rider has felt but could not explain. Members can share observations, videos, questions and experiences and explore them together with Meghan’s guidance. The goal is not for everyone to agree. It is to stay curious long enough to consider what we may have overlooked.

Academy membership includes a growing library of foundational teaching, webinar replays and downloadable resources covering movement and posture, behavior and nervous system, compensation and adaptation, rider and training influence, whole-horse observation and The Art of Seeing. You do not need to work through the Library before participating in the Academy. It is there when a question comes up and you want to understand more.
